Nippon Steel Corporation (Nippon Steel) is proud to announce that our low CO₂ steel Products “NSCarbolex™ Neutral” *1 will be used on the “85 Degrees Renewables Bleiswijk”, a geothermal project in the Netherlands. The project owner, 85 Degrees Renewables (85 Degrees) will develop and operate the geothermal well, supported by ITECO Oilfield Supply France SAS (ITECO).

85 Degrees is a geothermal operating company in the Netherlands, engaged in clean energy development in Bleiswijk, the western part of the Netherlands. 85 Degrees and ITECO, aim to achieve a CO₂ free project, with “NSCarbolex Neutral” selected to contribute to CO₂ reduction in the upstream production process.
85 Degrees are committed to transition to clean energy, and they aim to deliver CO₂ free energy, including working towards complete decarbonization of the whole supply chain, we are excited to be supplying this innovative product for geothermal project and look forward to working with 85 Degrees and ITECO long term in the Netherlands.

Moreover, 85 Degrees and ITECO highly recognize the technical and commercial benefits of selecting 13% chrome steel seamless oil country tubular goods, to which “NSCarbolex Neutral” is being applied. Our 13% chrome products have excellent corrosion resistance which enables a longer geothermal well operating period under corrosive environments, which reduces the well’s overall life cycle cost.
